As we dive into more spiritual travel coverage, we keep finding fun gems in our own backyard, from horseback riding in nature along the Mendocino coast and fun events, like The Crystal Fair which is an event that takes place six times a year in California.
The event itself is a magical mix of crystals, minerals, beads, jewelry, and the healing arts and over 40 vendors show off their latest finds. From more well known gemstones like turquoise, tigers eye, crystals and amethyst to lesser known stones like Serpentine, Howlite and Agate, at least for those who haven’t been rock hounds for as long as they can remember.
I loved some of raw turquoise cuts from the Love Harmony guys based in Bodega who had a bunch of turquoise from not just the Southwest but from around the world.
Other fun vendors included Altar Space, the Good Medicine Shop out of Sedona, and Terra Dawn Minerals from Oregon. There were also people who specialize in shamanism, energy healing, soul and aura sessions, tarot readers and holistic mediums.
The Great San Francisco Crystal Fair began at Fort Mason in 1987 and today their Crystal Fairs take place 3 times a year in San Francisco and 3 times a year in Walnut Creek, which is in the East Bay. The next one at Fort Mason will be in February 2018. More details including dates and locations can be found at http://www.crystalfair.com.
