The Space Around You Matters

Think of Blue Soul Living as the intersection of what Joanna Gaines brought to the world of home and what Kinfolk brought to slow living—reimagined through the lens of consciousness, intentional design, and the relationship between our outer spaces and our inner lives.

What if your environment could change
the way you experience your life?

The colors you live with.

The objects you surround yourself with.

The natural elements you bring inside.

The light. The textures. The sounds.

The spaces where you rest, work, create and gather.

Your environment is speaking to you all the time. Blue Soul Living explores how we can listen—and intentionally create spaces that support greater harmony, creativity, connection and consciousness.

For more than fifteen years, Renee Blodgett has been creating experiences designed to help people reconnect—with themselves, with one another and with something deeper.

As co-founder of Blue Soul Earth, she has facilitated sacred retreats, led the Blue Soul Alchemy Wisdom School, taught courses and co-authored books alongside her partner, Anthony. Throughout that work, one principle has remained constant:

Everything carries energy.

And the spaces we inhabit are part of that energy.

Over the years, Renee began noticing something. Whenever she and Anthony created a space for a retreat, workshop or gathering, they paid close attention to the environment—the light, the objects, the natural elements, the placement of things, the feeling of the room. They weren't simply creating a beautiful setting. They were creating an experience.

Then they began leading programs in other people's homes, offices, retreat centers and studios. And Renee noticed how rarely people considered the space itself.

After one gathering, someone wrote to tell her how unusually calm they had felt in the room. Another described the experience as transformative. Others talked about unexpected bursts of creativity, a profound sense of serenity, greater balance or simply feeling more like themselves.

A seed was planted.

  • What if our environment could do more than look beautiful?
  • What if the spaces where we live, work, create and gather could support who we are becoming?
  • What if a room could help us breathe more deeply, think more clearly, create more freely, reconnect with ourselves and feel more at home in our own lives?

These questions became the beginning of Blue Soul Living.

Blue Soul Living explores the relationship between space, energy and consciousness—and how intentional choices in our environments can influence how we feel, create, connect and live.

We believe your surroundings can become more than a backdrop to your life.

They can become part of your practice.

A place to restore.

A place to create.

A place to awaken.

A place to come home to yourself.

Because when the space around you comes into alignment, something within you can begin to shift, too.

This is Blue Soul Living.

Sacred Space Strategy & Alignment

How We Work

We don't come into your home to manage contractors, oversee construction, paint your living room or handle the full physical execution of a design project.

Instead, we begin with different questions:

How do you want to feel, live, create and connect in this space?

What will ignite your curiosity, creativity and connection?

Where will you feel aligned, inspired and at peace?

A sun-filled reading nook with an ocean view, layered pillows and open books

From there, we look at your home—or a particular room within it—as a living environment, a space that is an extension of your values and who you are at a soul level.

What is supporting you?

What feels stagnant, disconnected or forgotten?

Where is there beauty, but no meaning or soul?

Where might nature, color, symbolism, placement or ritual transform the way you experience the room?

Together, we create a strategic vision for the space—one that reflects who you are, what matters to you and what you want this chapter of your life to support.

The result isn’t a conventional decorating plan. It’s a Sacred Space Blueprint: a thoughtful framework for creating a home that feels intentional, personal, alive and deeply yours.

What We May Explore Together

  • Altar or contemplative-space placement and design
  • Color palettes and the emotional qualities you want them to evoke
  • Feng Shui principles and the energetic flow of a room
  • Furniture placement and how movement, openness and orientation affect the space
  • Sacred geometry, meaningful symbols and objects
  • Spiritual, ancestral or cultural traditions that genuinely resonate with you
  • Natural materials, plants, water, stone, wood, flowers and other elements of the living world
  • Lighting, texture, sound and the overall sensory experience
  • Areas for meditation, prayer, creativity, writing, gathering or restoration
  • Seasonal altars and ways your home can evolve with the rhythms of nature
  • What to remove, simplify, relocate or intentionally bring forward
  • Visual inspiration and recommendations you can implement yourself or share with an interior designer

Blue Soul Living can come before an interior designer — or alongside one. I help define the soul, intention and energetic architecture of the space; your designer, architect or contractor can then handle the physical execution.

Before the Design Comes the Intention

An interior designer may begin with questions about furniture, materials, style, function and budget. Those questions matter.

Blue Soul Living begins one layer deeper.

How can this room or space connect
you to something deeper?

A bedroom might be designed for more than sleep. Perhaps it needs to become a sanctuary for intimacy, restoration and letting go.

A home office may need to support clarity, creativity and purposeful work.

A kitchen might become the energetic heart of a home — connected to nourishment, gathering, ancestry and abundance.

An entryway can communicate something before anyone has said a word: you are entering a place of warmth, beauty and welcome.

And an altar doesn’t have to feel overtly religious or “spiritual.” It might simply be a beautifully composed place containing objects that remind you of what matters.

This is the territory Blue Soul Living explores.

Feng Shui: Creating Flow, Balance & Relationship

Feng Shui offers another lens for understanding the relationship between ourselves and the spaces we inhabit.

Rather than treating it as a rigid set of decorating rules, I weave Feng Shui into Blue Soul Living as a framework for exploring flow, balance, placement, orientation and relationship.

Questions We Might Ask

Where does energy seem to move naturally — and where does it stop?

What greets you when you enter a room?

Where do you instinctively want to sit, gather or retreat?

What areas feel crowded, exposed, neglected or strangely unsettled?

Could furniture, art, mirrors, plants or meaningful objects be placed differently to create greater ease?

Are the natural elements represented in a way that feels balanced and supportive?

Traditional Feng Shui also considers relationships among elements such as wood, fire, earth, metal and water, and how their presence, absence and balance can influence the character of an environment.

Blue Soul Living brings these principles into conversation with your own intuition, lifestyle, spiritual orientation and aesthetic.

Because a home shouldn’t feel as though it has been arranged according to somebody else’s formula.

It should still feel unmistakably like you. Feng Shui becomes one of several lenses we can use — alongside nature, symbolism, color, sensory awareness, intention and the practical realities of how you actually live.

The Outer Space Meets the Inner Life

Creating sacred space isn’t about filling a room with crystals, statues or spiritual objects.

Sometimes the most sacred decision is removing something.

Opening a window. Moving a chair toward the morning light. Clearing an overcrowded shelf. Bringing a plant into a forgotten corner. Placing something inherited from your family where you can actually see it. Creating a small place to sit before the rest of the house wakes up.

It may be choosing colors that help your body soften rather than simply following what happens to be fashionable.

A sacred space becomes sacred because of the relationship you have with it.

Objects can carry stories. Colors can hold associations.

Nature reconnects us with rhythms larger than our schedules.

Symbols can remind us of values, traditions, ancestors, intentions and parts of ourselves we don’t want to forget.

When these elements are brought together consciously, a room begins to tell a different story — your story.

Your Sacred Space Blueprint

After our work together, you’ll have a clear creative and energetic direction for your space.

Rather than leaving you with vague inspiration, the intention is to give you a roadmap you can begin implementing — gradually or all at once.

Depending on the project, your blueprint may include:

  • Recommended color directions and emotional tone
  • Altar, ritual or contemplative-space concepts
  • Feng Shui observations and flow recommendations
  • Meaningful symbols, objects or sacred geometry to consider
  • Natural elements and materials to introduce
  • Suggestions for furniture placement, orientation or room use
  • Elements to remove, relocate, simplify or bring forward
  • Ideas for meditation, creativity, gathering, restoration or seasonal ritual areas
  • Visual references and inspiration to guide implementation
  • A clear framework you can use yourself or share with a designer, architect or contractor

You can bring the ideas to life yourself — or use the Sacred Space Blueprint as a creative foundation with the professionals who will handle the detailed interior design, purchasing, construction or installation.

Beauty & Wonder are Parts of the Conversation.
But It Isn’t Where We Begin.

We begin with meaning.

Then we translate that meaning into color, placement, nature, symbolism, ritual, Feng Shui and the objects and spaces you live with every day.

Blue Soul Living should not be confused with an interior design consultancy; it’s a strategic, intuitive and energetically informed process for discovering what your space is meant to support and how it can nourish you and ignite your soul’s purpose and alignment. From that place, we help you create a clear plan for bringing that vision to life.

Space Is Shaping You More Than You Realize

The spaces we inhabit are more than backdrops to our lives. They influence how we feel, how we think, how we create and how we connect. Our surroundings express who we are and what we value—and can even shape what we are ready to become.

At first, Renee wondered if it was simply a matter of personal preference. After all, Anthony is Italian, and Renee's ancestry traces back to France. They both have an instinctive appreciation for beauty, color, texture and the natural world, and they naturally brought those elements into the spaces they created.

But then she began to wonder:

  • What if it's one of those things we don't know we don't know?
  • What if our relationship with our environment and living space is influencing us in ways we don't fully understand, beyond aesthetics and beauty?

As people began experiencing the spaces Renee and Anthony created, they started noticing something shift.

Attitudes softened.

Ideas opened.

Uncertainty became possibility.

Clutter became purpose.

Creativity began to flow.

Surrounded by color, natural elements and symbols drawn from the living earth, people began to experience something deeper: a remembrance of connection.

A sense that we are not separate from the world around us, but part of a living, interconnected whole. And perhaps that's the real invitation of intentional space.

Not perfection.

Not another beautifully decorated room.

Not following someone else's idea of how a home should look.

But creating an environment that feels coherence and aligned with who you are and your values.

Because when the spaces around us begin to feel more harmonious, something can happen within us, too.

We breathe differently.

We become more present.

We think more clearly.

We create more freely.

We connect more deeply—with ourselves, with one another and with the world outside our walls.

The coherence we create in our surroundings can become an invitation to cultivate coherence within.

We may not realize what we're missing when it's absent. But when balance, beauty and intention are brought into the places where we spend our lives, we can feel the difference.

Perhaps living in harmony isn't a luxury.

Perhaps it's a way of coming home.

Signature Elements of a Blue Soul Space

You don't need to renovate a room to change how it feels. A few intentional shifts are often enough to open a space—and yourself—to something deeper.

Color that echoes the natural world, not just a trend.

Light that changes throughout the day, and is allowed to.

Objects chosen for their story, not their price tag.

Texture you want to touch—wood, stone, linen, clay.

Sound, or the deliberate absence of it.

Room to breathe: nothing in a space purely to fill it.

None of this is about perfection. It is about coherence—a space that finally agrees with who you are.
