The Phoenician Spa has a variety of offerings and is oh so luxe in every way. In addition to massages and facials, there’s a nail spa and a drybar and the relaxation area is calming and undisturbed, which I can’t say for all the spas we’ve reviewed, even in 5 star properties.
At the Phoenician Spa, they use Essential Oils & Aromatherapy Blends as well as body treatments, such as wraps and scrubs. They also offer meditation, tarot and hypnotherapy as well as fitness and movement options. Be sure to read our standalone hotel review on The Phoenician, where we stayed in their Canyon Suites for a few nights.
The Phoenician Spa in Scottsdale
They have a lovely Energy Balancing Ritual that helps to gently balance the body‘s pathways. This process harmonizes the physical, mental and spiritual self. Here, they also use a lot of aromatherapy which we are big believers in for healing. You can choose from a variety of essential oils, including amber, clove, lemon, frankincense (one of our favorites), rose and myrrh (the latter is supposed to be great for bringing out the feminine divine).
I opted for a massage treatment with Native American influences.
We had an initial discussion about what stones I’d like to use for my treatment — yup, you have a choice, or the massage practitioner can select one for you.
Other massage treatments include energizing hot towel compresses, and unique massage techniques to reduce tension and promote a relaxed state. You can also get massage enhancements such as a Diamond or Gold mask, hand or foot therapy, Himalayan Salt Stones (YES!!), muscle and joint relief and a separate scalp treatment.
You can also get Craniosacral Therapy or a Table Thai massage which uses palm pressure, and a range-of-motion techniques and yoga-like stretches to reduce stress and improve circulation. The Body & Soul treatment infuses organic lavender, sage and high potency, supercritical extract of arnica flowers to target aches, pains and soft tissue damage.
The standalone Himalayan Salt Stone Ritual is a 50 or 80 minute option and uses 100 percent pure salt to re-mineralize your skin, help to improve sleep and reduce inflammation, a common issue with so many overworked souls.
We were also thrilled to see a Lymphatic treatment on the menu, as we believe that all women should do this regularly — it’s a great detoxifying process to stimulate the lymph drainage system, helping to remove toxins and activate the body’s natural immune system.
The Jacuzzi, Steam Room & Sauna at the Phoenician Spa
Personally, I absolutely loved the jacuzzi and didn’t want to leave. Although the most magical part of our experience at the Phoenician Spa were the treatments, the relaxation lounge, the views out the windows and the serenity of the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi all added to the first class experience here.
The spa offers a number of rejuvenating body scrubs and hydrating wraps as well. A unique one we’d like to try at a future time is something they call the Kalahari Hydration Wrap, which they use Shea butter, Kalahari melon oil and Chardonnay grape seed oil as well as bamboo, jojoba and rose petals infused in exotic cactus oils. Gotta love the unique creativity here to assist in overall healing!
At the Phoenician Spa, they use a variety of products at the Phoenician Spa which you can purchase and of course use in the changing and lounge areas.
They also offer Harmonic Bowl Healing as well at the Phoenician Spa — we are huge believers in sound as a powerful force to heal both the body and mind. Be sure to read a recent article we wrote on a Sound Healing Conference we attended in San Francisco which talks about some of the ways sound is being used in medicine, education, science and beyond.
With the Harmonic Bowl Healing experience, they use Himalayan Singing Bowls on and around the body to create healing vibrations. Sound therapy uses both audible sounds and tangible vibrations to achieve a therapeutic effect. It is noted that this pulsation reaches the cellular level and brings profound relaxation, meditation and energy balancing for the mind, body and soul.
Of course there are facials as well, including some pretty unique offerings, such as the NuFace Facial Sculpting and Toning System, which uses NuFace microcurrent technology and polypeptides. They offer a Hydrafacial which is great for aging skin (using serums filled with antioxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acid), gem stone healing facial and a Botanical Stem Cell facial using plant-based ingredients to help with ant-aging.
Here, they use a combination of argan and comfrey stem cells, supercharged de-ages such as collagen, retinol and elastin to visibly help to reduce lines and wrinkles.
